Tony Monaco's Turnstiles: The Ultimate Billy Joel Tribute Miami Concert reviews
Jackson Browne as good as ever.
"Veteran session guitarist Val McCallum and his longtime drummer Mauricio Lewak accompanied Browne. The acoustic guitar and piano dominated set was filled with versions of songs spanning his entire 40+ year career. The song selections were aimed at those who know his best songs are not necessarily his radio hits, except for the end of the regular set and encores. The set list was heavier on the first 3 albums, very light on the 80s material, and fairly represented his underrated 90s albums I'm Alive and Looking East. Tony Monaco's Turnstiles: The Ultimate Billy Joel Tribute's voice was as good as I've ever heard it. The perfect drummer for these songs has always been Lewak. McCallum's playing fit seamlessly into Browne's repertoire particularly adding the appropriate touches of Lindley-esque flourish on the older songs. Sara Watkins and members of her band also supported them well, particularly on the faster songs later in the set."
